On the road (right side) approaching from Carbost, the first building past the Mountain Rescue Station about 200 yards before crossing the Banachdich Burn, and about 300 yards north of Glenbrittle House. The main entrance is on the west side.

The accommodation is as follows:
Entrance Hall with racks etc for coats, boots and ropes.
Large Common Room, one section for eating and another (which can be curtained off and contains a multi-fuel stove) for sitting. Wall mounted electric heater. Large kitchen with double sink, sink water heater, plate racks cooking benches, electric cookers, (hot plates, microwave, grill and oven) spaced out on the benches. Sizeable pantry. Two large fridges for visitors, one small one for warden-small freezer compartment in this one.
Toilets (including hot and cold showers) for men and women. Large and efficient drying room, well fitted, with upper section on the first floor plus a spin dryer. Fuel store, and storage cupboard.
Three mixed dormitories each containing six bunks, and in addition four camp beds which can be used in any of the dormitories. Wall heater in each dormitory. Electric Razor points in two dormitories. Plastic foam mattresses, pillows and blankets. Visitors must supply their own cotton sleeping bag if hut blankets are used. Warden’s room with wardrobe, table etc. Blanket cupboard and Warden’s store.
£5.00 per night, This includes the cost of electricity for cooking and lighting.

There are two ferries operating from the mainland:
1. From Mallaig to Armadale; Mallaig is reached from Fort William.
2. From Gleneig to Kylerhea; Gleneig is reached from Shiel Bridge.
3. The bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh
There are rail heads at both Mallaig and Kyle of Lochalsh.
Bus services operate from Kyle of Lochalsh or Armadale to Sligachan, from where a less frequent service operates to Carbost. There is one daily bus service for the last seven miles from Carbost to Glenbrittle.
