1. Persons entitled to use the Hut are members and guests of  members of constituent Clubs of the B.M.C and M.C. of S., and
associate Members of these bodies. Clubs making use of the Hut must accept full responsibility for the behaviour, and any consequences
which may arise therefrom, of members and guests using the Hut.. Members of such  clubs have priority of use over other persons.

2. The maximum number of visitors resident at any one time is 18. All must be over the age of 16. However, if all places are booked by
a single club, they may increase the number up to a maximum of 20 , with no age limit.
The number of 20 must not be exceeded except in case of extreme emergency due to bad weather, illness or accident.
If over occupancy occurs future bookings will not be accepted.

3. Applications for use of the Hut must be made in writing to the Booking Secretary . In the case of club members, this should be through
the Secretary of the constituent club, who will accept responsibility for the prospective visitor - see Rule 1.
All bookings must be paid in full in advance one month before arrival at the Hut.
Cheque's are made payable to Glen Brittle Memorial Hut
If payment does not reach the Booking Secretary  one month in advance the booking will be considered null and void.
Once paid, the Hut fees will only be refunded in circumstances considered exceptional by the Hut Management  Committee.
A booking card will be issued, which must be produced on arrival at the Hut.
On-the spot bookings. The Hut Warden is empowered to accept on -the spot bookings whenever accommodation is available,
provided the applicant can demonstrate to the Warden that he  or she is entitled to use the Hut (Rule 1).
The Hut Warden’s decision in this matter is final.

4. The key of the front door (west of the Hut) is kept by Mrs MacRae, at Glenbrittle House, 300 yards south of the Hut.
Any visitor applying for it must produce his or her booking card (without which the Key Custodian is instructed not to hand over the key).
The key must be returned to the key Custodian each time the Hut is left unoccupied and all doors and windows must be closed and locked.

5. Visitors Book. Immediately on arrival each visitor must enter in this book his or her name, the name of his or her club, the period for which
he or she has booked, and any other particulars as may be required by the book. A visitor who is not a member of a constituent club and who is
present as a guest of a member must have his or her entry countersigned by that member. Any day visitor making use of the Hut facilities must likewise
make an entry in the book and pay the appropriate fee.

6. Collection of Fees and other Charges. The Resident Warden is fully empowered to collect all Hut Fees not paid in advance and
all authorised charges, and will issue booking cards as official receipts for the money paid. In the absence of a Resident Warden, Mrs I MacRae,
Glenbrittle house has authority to act as deputy in all matters. When there is no resident warden, or when he is absent,
any dues should be placed in one of the envelopes provided, details completed on the face of the envelope, and Visitors Book,
and the envelope placed in the safe provided.

7. Animals and radio Sets etc. No dog or other animal may be brought into the Hut, and no radio, record player or similar device may be used
in the Hut.

8. Conduct. Each visitor using the Hut is entitled to the full use of the amenities provided, and to expect reasonable comfort and quiet.
Occupants must therefore show due consideration for others using the Hut. After 11pm there must be as little noise a possible,
so that sleepers are not disturbed.

9. Cleaning. It is the duty of all visitors to take a fair share in ensuring that throughout their stay the Hut is kept clean and tidy.
It is suggested that wet days should be used for thoroughly  cleaning down sections of the hut.
After meals, and particularly before parties go out for the day, all  crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils must be washed and all supplies of food
placed in larder. Personal belongings must be put in dormitories and not lying about in the Common Room.

10. Damage. Any damage to the fabric of the Hut or equipment must be reported at once to the Resident Warden or the Hut Booking Secretary.
visitors will be expected to pay for any damage caused through carelessness or improper use. Breakages of crockery must be paid for.

11. Miscellaneous.
a) Camping and Sleeping Out
Neither is allowed in the hut precincts
b) Dormitory and Other Equipment
Must not be removed for use outside the Hut.
c) Cotton or other Sleeping Bags
Must be provided by all visitors
d) Refuse
Must be dealt with as required by the notice in the Hut.
e)Fireplace
Must be regularly cleaned as directed.
f) Replenishment of Stores and Fuel
Shortages must be reported at once to the Resident Warden or the Hut Booking Secretary.
g) Perishable Food
This must not be left behind in the Hut when a party finally leaves.
h) Climbing on the Hut Walls
Is forbidden
i) Smoking
Is forbidden
j) Gate
The gate should be kept shut to keep all cattle and sheep out.
k) Parking
Is at owners risk.
12. Notices posted in the Hut regulating the use of and advising of heating and lighting equipment, the water supply and drainage system, or providing general instructions
connected with the use of the hut shall be deemed to be incorporated in these Rules and to have the same force and effect.
13. Enforcement rules. The resident Warden is fully empowered by the Management Committee to enforce these rules and in the case of wilful breach of them to cancel the bookings
of the visitors responsible.
