Notes
There are basically two different types of usage.
a. Week-enders wish to use the hut on Friday and Saturday nights only (sometimes Sunday and occasionally Monday).
b. Complete week bookings. They are encouraged to book Saturday - Sunday 7 nights.
These two types of bookings conflict and because there is a legal limit on the numbers using the hut,
there have in practice been many occasions when requests for a complete week have been rejected.
Because of this the last two weeks of May and the first two weeks of  June are now set aside until
four weeks before the date, for complete week bookings.
Casual Bookings
When there is a resident warden (April - October), he or she is given a list of bookings every week.
The warden is then empowered to accept casual bookings up to the legal maximum of 18 places.
The warden requires proof of club membership.
Many of the casual bookings are refugees from the camp site driven by midges or rain,
so all members are encouraged to carry membership cards even  although they do not intend using the hut.

Message from Hut Chairman
Dear Group Booker
As GBMH is now under new management, and no longer has a committee member resident on Skye to act as trouble shooter,
we need to change the way we do things. We hope thereby to give all hut visitors the best possible experience,
but it does mean devolving some of the responsibilities.

We would like the Booker (for individuals or a large club group) to be responsible for ensuring, as now,
that the booking card is brought to the Hut and handed over to the Warden on arrival.

Please try to reach the Hut after 1.00 p.m. on arrival day, and before 11.00 p.m. (if later , come in very quietly!), and plan
To vacate sleeping and food storage areas by 11.00 a.m. on departure day, even if heading for the hills.
(This is to give the Warden ‘changeover time’ if a new group is due in, but toilets, etc are still available before you leave the Glen!).
Please note that the MAXIMUM NUMBER permitted in the Hut in an exclusive booking is TWENTY.
This has been reduced due to fire/safety rulings and insurance considerations.
If this limit is not adhered to, the group will lose the exclusive booking privilege.

Please also recognise and explain to your group that we depend on volunteers for all the administration and maintenance - the
nearest now lives over three hours journey from Glenbrittle! Please encourage all your party to contribute to cleaning,
and on wet days to help with minor repairs, and report any deficiencies to the warden, if one is present, or to the Hut Chairman
noted at the foot of this message.
Please help the Warden if you have any special ‘handyman skills’ that are needed in your group, and also work with the Warden
to keep the Hut a happy place. The rules are there to be read as guidance and to encourage all to be part of the community.

Thank you - enjoy your stay!
